INVICTUS
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul. (William Ernest Henley)
figure drawings. these are like the best figure drawings i have…i have to step my game up
18x24,charcoal drawing
“Beauty Remains” my instillation series for the Efrem Atkins (a visiting artist to my drawing 2 class) project.
medium:solvent transfer, and Burning paper
Concept:Beauty through destruction. I believe that even through destruction beauty can still be found within the ruins of what once was.The lotus flower represents what was before the destruction. It was a beautiful flower and my use of fire represents the means for destruction of that flower, and in the end something (in my opinion) even more beautiful was born through the process
